In today’s society everyone is about “going green”. We have electric cars, recycled paper products, re-usable shopping bags, etc. However, there is yet another way to recycle products for the benefit of someones PHYSICAL health. Yes, thats right physical health.
Have you ever planned a wedding and had left over decorations and flowers? Then wonder what you are going to do with them? How about recycling the flowers? You’re probably thinking, “Well live flowers can’t be recycled”! Yes, actually they can and not necessarily in the way you may be thinking. Recycling the floral arrangements is a great therapy method. That’s exactly what the Forget Me Not Foundation promotes.
The organization was created by Robert Svet, founder and CEO of The Eastridge Group of Staffing Companies. After planning his son’s wedding, Svet wondered, “How can we share the artistic and inspiring bouquets we used to celebrate the joyous occasion of my son’s marriage?”. He asked the same question to his friend Bill Stone, President of Therastaff LLC, and they decided to create the Forget Me Not Foundation.
Freshly cut, professionally created floral arrangements are donated to local nursing homes, hospitals, and other medical facilities and patients then reconstruct the arrangements during their therapy sessions.
Inspired by the cause but not sure how you can donate, or don’t have an upcoming event? You can still help out, you can call and donate!
“It’s the people who drive our Foundation. Whether it’s through sponsorships, floral donations or time, we couldn’t do what we do without the generosity of others. At the end of the day, if we can bring a smile to the face of one patient or care facility resident, then we all win.”
Bill Stone, President of TheraStaff LLC and Foundation Co-Founder
