New LinkedIn Contacts can help keep healthcare relationships strong

describe the imageLinkedIn is a wonderful social media tool that can be used within any profession. BlueSky is even on LinkedIn! If LinkedIn is something new to you, let me familiarize yourself with it. Think of it as a social media to network friends, colleagues, former classmates, etc and the information you share is more of a online resume rather than a status update of what you did over the weekend or sharing photos from some event you went to. LinkedIn is the most professional social network out there.

Last week LinkedIn announced a new feature they were launching that will make its users lives a little easier with LinkedIn contacts. This program will allow you to sync contact information from address books, emails, and calendars.

“Today we’re proud to announce the launch of LinkedIn Contacts, a smarter way to stay in touch with your most important relationships. With this new product, we bring all your contacts from your address books, email accounts, and calendars together with the power of your LinkedIn network. Contacts is available both on LinkedIn.com as well as a brand new app for iPhone. Over the coming weeks, we’ll start sending invitations to try LinkedIn Contacts to a limited number of members in the United States.” – Sachin Rekhi, LinkedIn Blog

One of the coolest features, or at least in my opinion, is being able to see your recent conversations and meeting info on your contacts profile. This makes it easier to keep all the information shared in one place. Another thing that makes this new feature one to check out is that it will also have its own app so your linked in contacts, data, and meeting information can travel with you. With many people having on-the-go lifestyles, easier is better. Think of Contacts as your new personal assistant. It will keep track of everything for you and can always be with you!

Still not sold? What about being able to recieve notification updates about your contacts when they get a new job, or have a birthday? These notification can serve as little reminders to remain to connected and not to lose touch with your colleagues, in-turn keeping your relationships with them stronger.

There are many benefits to LinkedIn and LinkedIn Contacts – Is this something you think you would use or benefit from? Are you on LinkedIn?
